TA i.e Territorial Army exam is a national exam conducted by the Indian Territorial Army Recruitment authorities to select candidates for their various posts in the Territorial Army. 

They are part of the regular army and give their contribution as a unit in the time of requirements only.

The territorial Army exam is conducted by the Indian Territorial Army 

Recruitment authorities.

It is an objective type examination which may contain a time duration of two hours. 

THE SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE TERRITORIAL ARMY EXAM IS BASICALLY DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTIONS WHICH ARE DESCRIBED BELOW- 

  • FOR EX-SERVICEMEN- Interview only framed by the authorities 
  • FOR CIVILIANS- Screening test that include Written Examinations and Interview, SSB and the Medical Board for final selections.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE TERRITORIAL ARMY EXAM IS ELABORATED BELOW AS PER THE GUIDELINES OF TERRITORIAL ARMY RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION- 

  • CITIZENSHIP- Candidate should be a citizen of India and all the documents are verified by government of India

NOW WE ARE ELABORATING THE EXAM PATTERN OF TERRITORIAL ARMY IS DESCRIBED BELOW- 

  • FOR EX- SERVICEMEN- There is no written examination framed by the Territorial Army Recruitment authorities only the candidates will just have to go through the interview section.
  • FOR CIVILIANS- Paper is divided into two sections i.e PAPER 1 and PAPER 2. Each paper will be of 100 marks so that the written examination i.e the total marks are of 200 marks.Each type is OMR sheet will be provided to each candidate and paper type will be objective. Each paper is also divided into sections and each section of objective paper will be composed of 50 marks with 50 questions. There will be a negative marking i.e 0.33 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The qualifying marks for the Territorial Army written examination of the Territorial Army is 40 percent in each divided section and the average total marks should be at least 50 percent. 

HERE NOW WE ELABORATING THE SELECTION PROCEDURE OF THE TERRITORIAL ARMY IS DESCRIBED BELOW- 

  • OFFICER-CIVILIANS- Officer civilians territorial army selection process is elaborated into three sections mainly the screening test, SSB interview process and medical examination. 

The screening stage includes the written and PIB interview. In written examination it includes test reasoning, Elementary Mathematics, General knowledge and also command on the language. Secondly the interview round, which is scheduled by Preliminary Interview Board of Territorial Army 

In SSB i.e  Service Selection Board examination candidates who are qualified the first phase i.e screening stage will be only invited for the SSB  interview round and candidates will have to go through the five day SSB interview process.

In Medical Examination the selected and recommended candidate is referred for proper physical and mental check ups and the standard or the guidelines are set up by the Military Hospital. 

  • FOR EX- SERVICEMEN- Candidate will be interviewed by ASB i.e called as Army Headquarters Selection Board that is held at the Additional Directorate General Territorial Army, Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of defence.  Then candidates go through Medical Examination at the Armed Forces hospital then after a round of verification candidates who cleared all the strenuous phases are given a call letter.

Territorial Army: BENEFITS AND ALLOWANCES -

Pension- Officers with more than 20 years of experience and Junior Commissioned Officers or any other ranks with 15 years of experience get Pension.

Increment- Increment is received each time after a year of physical service.
