Special Entry commission in IAF Flying branch Criteria:-
Indian Air Force will be published for the AFCAT 2 2023 notification along with NCC C Certificate Special Entry for Flying Branch. NCC candidates with a ‘C’ certificate can apply for IAF NCC Special entry. Online applications will be invited for the courses commencing in July 2023 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission -SSC in the Ground Duty -GD (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches.
Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry commission: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2023 i.e. born between 02 July 2000 to 01 July 2004 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License which is issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed till 26 years.
Candidates should have a mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 Intermediate level, and
(a) Graduation with a minimum 3-years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent to it. OR
(b) BE/B.Tech degree (4- years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared the Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India (ASI) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Air Force Selection Board :
(a) For AFCAT entry, IAF will prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the Online AFCAT as fixed by the IAF at their discretion. Candidates who will be declared successful in the Online AFCAT are called at one of the Air Force Selection Boards/centres. Candidates who have already applied for NCC Special Entry/Meteorology will be directly called for AFSB testing at one of their AFSB centres. The AFSB centres are at Dehradun (1), Mysuru (2), Gandhinagar (3) and Varanasi (4). Candidates who opt for a flying branch can only opt for branches at Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi. Candidates who already have qualified in the written exam are required to choose the AFSB date and venue by themselves on its website https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in or https://afcat.cdac.in in order to generate their call-up letter for the AFSB interview.
AFCAT 2 2023 Final Merit List Selection:
To be selected, candidates should secure minimum qualifying marks separately in written exam and AFSB test as fixed by the IAF itself. Candidates will be placed in their order of merit on the basis of the total marks secured by them in the written examination and AFSB tests. The form and manner in which communication of the result of the examination to individual candidates shall be decided by the IAF in their discretion. 10% of the vacancies are reserved for the NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate holders in Ground Duty (Technical and Nontechnical) Branches. Allotment of PC/ SSC in Ground Duty-GD (Technical and Non-technical) Branches would be based on the number of vacancies, performance in the selection process and choice given by the candidates.
