Lt. Manoj Pande Become New Vice Chief of Indian Army

General Manoj Pande is the New Army Vice Chief and he is the successor of Lt Gen CP Mohanty who is scheduled to superannuate on January 31 2022. General Pandey was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers (The Bombay Sappers) in December 1982. He was Director-General at Army Headquarters and dealt with discipline, ceremonies and welfare issues.

The General Officer commanded an engineer regiment during Operation Parakram in the sensitive Pallanwala sector along the Jammu and Kashmir Line of Control. He graduated from Staff College, Camberley (UK) and attended Higher Command (HC) and the National Defense College. (NDC) Courses.

“During his distinguished 39-year military career, he has held key and challenging command and staff positions in a variety of operational environments, including command of a Strike Corps Engineer Brigade in the Western Theater, an Infantry Brigade throughout the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, Mountain Division in the West Ladakh Heights, a corps in the north-east, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Command and Officer-General, Commander-in-Chief of This Command.

For his excellent service, he has been awarded of Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, the Chief of Army Staff Commendation and GOC-in-C Commendation twice.
