Indian Army implementing RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) of Ammunition Stock
The Indian Army has begun implementing the identification of radio frequency (RFID) that takes its ammunition inventory. The implementation of RFID was led by the Directorate of Artillery Services, Indian Army, in partnership with Munitions India Limited (MIL), Pune, the newly established entity formed after the corporatization of the Ordnance Factories Board (OFB).
The RFID labelling is in congruity with worldwide norms in meeting with GS-1 India, a Global Standards association set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The RFID labels will be deciphered and utilized for resources followed by the Enterprise Resource Application run by the Computerized Inventory Control Group (CICG) of the Ordnance Services Directorate.
The execution of the RFID answer for ammo resource permeability will change the executives of ammo and get a quantum bounce in ammo parcel the board and following capacity. The undertaking will make ammo stockpiling and use by officers more secure and give upgraded fulfilment to the field Army.
