What are Army Medical Corps?
The Indian Army Medical Corps is a specialised corps in the Indian Army that mainly offers medical services to all Army members, including active-duty and veteran soldiers as well as their families.
On April 3, 1943, the Indian Medical Service, the Indian Medical Department, and the Indian Hospital & Nursing Corps were combined to form the Army Medical Corps, a uniform corps of officers and men modelled after the Royal Army Medical Corps. To fill a rapidly growing army with qualified personnel during a time of war, the Corps was established.
