NDA Selection Procedure-

The NDA exam is given by the UPSC in two stages, a written test and an SSB interview. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must do well on the initial written exam. If candidates go past this round, they will be contacted for the SSB Interview.

  • Written Exam: The written exam, which is the first step in the selection process, is taken on paper and pen and is given offline. The candidates who get the required minimum marks will thereafter be eligible to take part in the subsequent stage of selection.
  • SSB Interview: This is the second stage of the NDA selection procedure, the SSB Interview. During the SSB Interviews, the candidate's intelligence and personality are evaluated. The SSB Interview is divided into two parts. The first round is carried out by the Centers, Air Force Selection Boards, and Naval Selection Boards. The NDAond interview round is only open to candidates who successfully complete the first round.
  • Medical Examination: This stage qualifies. If applicants want to join the Indian armed forces, they must be physically and medically fit for this stage of the selection process.
  • Final Merit List: The written exam results plus the results of the SSB interview are used to construct the final merit list. The final distribution will be made in accordance with employment openings, eligibility standards being satisfied, medical fitness, and merit-cum-preferences.

  • The UPSC decides the NDA selection procedure as well as the exam syllabus. NDA Exam Pattern and Syllabus The NDA exam syllabus and pattern often don't change from year to year.
  • The NDA exam is administered in two stages—a written exam and an SSB interview—as was previously discussed. The NDA exam recruiting is handled by UPSC, and the NDA interview is handled by SSB, hence the name SSB interview.
  • The written exam is divided into two sections: the general ability test and the mathematics section. The essay lasts five hours in total.
  • Part A of the GAT is an English paper, and Part B is a general knowledge paper.
  • With 300 points for math and 600 for the GAT, the NDA written tests total 900 points.
  • For each accurate math response, candidates receive 2.5 points, and for each accurate GAT NDA response, they receive 4. Additionally, each incorrect response will result in a deduction of 0.83 points in math, 1.33 points in English, and 1.33 points in general knowledge.
  • All of the exams in the NDA syllabus are composed of entirely objective-style questions. The GAT Mathematics and Paper B questions are bilingually written, that is, in both English and Hindi.
  • The two-stage SSB Interview also carries 900 points and is conducted in stages.

The Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT) is part of Stage I's Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) exams, while Stage II consists of an interview, group officer tasks, psychology tests, and a conference. Four days are spent conducting these examinations.

Marking Scheme In NDA SSB Interview

Each of the three assessors will score the medical examination, the group project, and the personal interview for a total of 300 marks under the NDA SSB Marking System (PI). Each assessor is required to get a minimum score of 90. There are 900 total points in the SSB. Additionally, it is divided into four sections (psychology, GTO, interview, and conference round), with each section receiving 900/4=225 marks. For any of the assessors to say "Yes" out of these 225 scores, you must obtain at least 90; if you score less than 90, you just get a "No."

During the first four days of the SSB interview process, screening, psychological testing, GTO tasks, and a personal interview are all included. You would need to pass with at least 90*3= 270 marks in this situation. A candidate, for instance, might score 80 on the interview, 70 on the GTO, and 75 on the psychological test. The total point total is 225.

2) A separate competitor earns a total of 250 of the required 270 points. The importance of the conference round is clearly clear as a result. The conference round will decide whether or not you are recommended if your grades are higher than 240.

Complete NDA SSB Interview Marking Schedule-

Each assessor must provide a score of at least 90. NDA SSB scored 900 points overall. The test is then divided into four phases (psychology, GTO, interview, and conference round), with 900/4=225 marks assigned to each.

NDA SSB Marking Scheme: Important Information

  • With backup marks of 225, the Services Selection Board started questioning you in the conference round because they felt you were deficient in a number of areas.
  • If they think you are qualified, they will give you points to increase your overall score from the previous 240 to 360 or higher (marks As Mentioned Above).
  • You, therefore, get a minimum score of 360 to pass (90X4). Additionally, you finally receive a recommendation.
  • During the psychology test, if an assessor is unsure of how to rate a candidate, he may speak with another assessor.Given that they must assess a candidate's OLQs in real-time, the GTO and the IO are unable to employ the option of obtaining an NDA and opinion.
  • A review is conducted during a conference if someone is about to receive a third assessment but is recommended by two assessors. In any case, a person is not at all recommended if a psychologist thinks they are unsuitable
  • On the day of the conference, all of these facets of your personality are combined to assess whether or not the applicant is qualified to serve as an officer in the armed forces.
  • Therefore, the secret to achieving good grades is to expand your thinking. The selection process used by the NDA SSB is based on approaches that assess applicants in light of the requirements of the armed services. Practice hard and get ready for each SSB phase as a consequence.
