NDA Selection Procedure-

The NDA exam is given by the UPSC in two stages, a written test and an SSB interview. To advance to the next round of the selection process, candidates must do well on the initial written exam. If candidates go past this round, they will be contacted for the SSB Interview.

  • Written Exam: The written exam, which is the first step in the selection process, is taken on paper and pen and is given offline. The candidates who get the required minimum marks will thereafter be eligible to take part in the subsequent stage of selection.
  • SSB Interview: This is the second stage of the NDA selection procedure, the SSB Interview. During the SSB Interviews, the candidate's intelligence and personality are evaluated. The SSB Interview is conducted in two stages. The first round is carried out by the Centers, Air Force Selection Boards, and Naval Selection Boards. The NDAond interview round is only open to candidates who successfully complete the first round.
  • Medical Examination: This stage qualifies. If applicants want to join the Indian armed forces, they must be physically and medically fit for this stage of the selection process.
  • Final Merit List: The written exam results plus the results of the SSB interview are used to construct the final merit list. The final distribution will be made in accordance with employment openings, eligibility standards being satisfied, medical fitness, and merit-cum-preferences.

  • Part A of the GAT is an English paper, and Part B is a general knowledge paper.
  • With 300 points for math and 600 for the GAT, the NDA written tests total 900 points.
  • For each accurate math response, candidates receive 2.5 points, and for each accurate GAT NDA response, they receive 4. Additionally, each incorrect response will result in a deduction of 0.83 points in math, 1.33 points in English, and 1.33 points in general knowledge.
  • All of the exams in the NDA syllabus are composed of entirely objective-style questions. The GAT Mathematics and Paper B questions are bilingually written, that is, in both English and Hindi.
  • The two-stage SSB Interview also carries 900 points and is conducted in stages.
