NAVY SSC TECH  Selection Process

Day 1 of the SSB Interviews: The Screening Process

Different Tests are administered on the first day of the SSB Interview. Below is a discussion of them:

1. Papers 1 and 2 of the OIR (Officer Intelligence Rating Test)

Two banks of questions spanning both verbal and nonverbal reasoning are used in OIR Tests. In the past, candidates had to write their solutions down; today, OMR sheets are provided for marking the answers. Pay close attention to the pre-test briefing from the instructor as the number of questions in each set and the amount of time allotted for each set change.

2. PP&DT (Picture Perception & Description Test) (Picture Perception & Description Test)

Candidates will first be shown a picture for 30 seconds, primarily one that is foggy or unclear. They will then have one minute to describe their findings, including the number of characters, their sexes, their attitudes, and the action taking place in the image. After that, kids will have four and a half minutes to write a story using their research.


3. Group Discussion (GD)

Day Two of the SSB Interview: Psychological Tests

1. For a test of thematic perception (TAT)

Candidates presented 12 photographs, 1 of which is blank, and were given 4 minutes to create a tale. The time limit is set up to evaluate each Aspirant's natural reaction.

2. Word Association Test (WAT): 

The aspirants must write down a sentence that pops into their heads after seeing each of the 60 words that are shown to them for 15 seconds at a time.

3-Situation Reaction Test, third (SRT)

The aspirants are handed a booklet containing 60 actual situations; they are required to write their responses to those situations. This exercise takes 30 minutes to complete.

4. Test of Self-Description (SDT)

In a few paragraphs, candidates must give a succinct self-description of the situation. Write about the thoughts of your parents, teachers, friends, and other people as well as the qualities you desire to develop. There is a 15-minute time limit for this exam.

SSB Interview Day 3: Group Testing Officers Tests

1. Group Discussion (GD)

The GTO first presents two themes for the first GD, from which the group selects one before exchanging opinions. The GTO provides a topic for the second GD, after which the same process is repeated. The group does not need to reach a decision in this instance.

2. Group Planning Exercise (GPE)

Using a map of the location, the GTO describes a situation where there are a number of issues. The candidates then have 10 minutes to write their solutions using all of their resources, including their group. 3. Progressive Group Task (PGT)

SSB Interview Day 4: Personal Interview
