MNS Syllabus:

Eligibility Criteria-

Candidates for MNS must have successfully completed their class 12 exams as ordinary students with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as their main courses.

Nationality: To be eligible, a candidate must be unmarried and one of the following: I an Indian citizen; (ii) a Nepalese subject; or (iii) an Indian national who has immigrated to India from one of the following countries: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, or Vietnam with the intention of settling there permanently. As long as a candidate who falls under categories (ii) and (iii) above is someone who supports the issuance of an eligibility certificate by the Government of India. Applicants who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal will be exempt from the necessity for an eligibility certificate. An applicant whose situation necessitates a certificate of eligibility may be admitted to the exam provisionally pending receipt of the required certificate from the Government.

MNS(PAT+INTERVIEW) Selection Process

Five days in a row are dedicated to the MNS(PAT+INTERVIEW)exam. Candidates are invited to the SSB interview if they pass the written exam. Candidates are put through a series of tests throughout the course of these five days.

Day 1 of the SSB Interviews: The Screening Process

Different Tests are administered on the first day of the SSB Interview. Below is a discussion of them:

1. Papers 1 and 2 of the OIR (Officer Intelligence Rating Test)

Two banks of questions spanning both verbal and nonverbal reasoning are used in OIR Tests. In the past, candidates had to write their solutions down; today, OMR sheets are provided for marking the answers. Pay close attention to the pre-test briefing from the instructor as the number of questions in each set and the amount of time allotted for each set change.


2. PP&DT (Picture Group Conversation (GD)

Candidates will first be shown a picture for 30 seconds, most of which will be hazy or indistinct. They will then have one minute to describe their observations, which should include how many characters there are, their genders, how they are feeling, and what is happening in the picture. After that, kids will have four and a half minutes to write a story using their research.


3. Group Discussion (GD)

The batch is separated into groups of 10 to 15 hopefuls, and before the group can make a decision, each applicant must relate their experience.

Day Two of the SSB Interview: Psychological Tests

1. Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)

Candidates have presented 12 photographs, 1 of which is blank and given 4 minutes to create a tale. The time limit is set up to evaluate each Aspirant's natural reaction.

2. Word Association Test (WAT)

Each of the 60 words is shown to the aspirants for 15 seconds at a time, and they are instructed to write down the first statement that comes to mind.

3. Situation Reaction Test (SRT)

The aspirants are handed a booklet containing 60 actual situations; they are required to write their responses to those situations. This exercise takes 30 minutes to complete.

4. Self-Description Test (SDT)

In a few paragraphs, candidates must give a succinct self-description of the situation. Write about the thoughts of your parents, teachers, friends, and other people as well as the qualities you desire to develop. There is a 15-minute time limit for this exam.

Day-3 of the SSB Interviews: Group Testing Officer Tests

1. Group Discussion (GD)

Before debating thoughts, the group chooses one of the GTO's two themes for the first GD. The second GD's topic is provided by the GTO, and the process is then repeated. In this case, no decision needs to be made by the group.

2. Group Planning Exercise (GPE)

The GTO explains a situation where there are several problems using a map of the location. After then, the candidates have ten minutes to submit their responses while making use of all of their tools, including their group. A solution is subsequently agreed upon by the group, which is then described by one of the members.

3. Progressive Group Task (PGT)

The four obstacle courses in this challenge increase in difficulty as they proceed. The party is supposed to move forward and attack these buildings using any tools they have at their disposal, such as a rope, plank, balli, etc. In addition, a load needs to be carried. All GTO rules must be followed by the group, including:

(a) The Color Rule

4. Group Obstacle Race (GOR)/ Snake Race

One of the most enjoyable parts of the procedure is a race across four obstacles, which include a single ramp jump, eight-shaped bars, a 10-foot wall, a double wall, a spider web, and a large slide. The rules state that Red should not be touched by a snake or my man. The snake must be handled by a minimum of three people when negotiating obstacles, and the GTO may impose a time penalty for violations.

5. Half Group Task (HGT)

Similar to PGT, but with only two participants and just one challenge.


SSB Interview Day 4: Personal Interview

1. Lecturette

Your confidence in front of a crowd of bystanders will be put to the test throughout the lecturette. Each officer is in charge of motivating, inspiring, and outlining the plan to his men. 2. Individual Obstacles (IO)

As the name implies, the entire group is assigned one hurdle similar to PGT that they must overcome jointly.

5. Personal Interview (PI)

Any of the three days after the completion of the day's examinations may be used for the personal interview. Based on the information provided by the student in his PIQ, the interviewing officer asks the student a variety of questions about his family, academics, involvement in sports and extracurricular activities, hobbies and interests, responsibilities, and general knowledge, including knowledge of the forces, personal life, and so on (Personal Information Questionnaire).

The typical interview lasts 40 minutes, however, some can last an hour or even just 5 minutes.


MNS(PAT+INTERVIEW) Day 5: Conference Day

The final day of the 5-day MNS (PAT+INTERVIEW) is Conference Day. Before the conference of aspirants begins, the assessor delivers a final address. All of the officials who evaluated the Aspirants the previous days attend a board meeting. Each assessor confers with one another on a candidate's suitability.

After each Aspirant makes an individual appear before the board and their overall appraisal is explained, the committee offers recommendations. MNS(PAT+INTERVIEW) Marking Scheme: Important Information

  • The Services Selection Board has backup marks of 225, and they began investigating you in the conference round since they considered you were deficient in various areas.
  • If they believe you are qualified, they will offer you points to boost your cumulative score from 240 to 360 or above (marks As Mentioned Above).
  • As a result, your minimal passing score is 360. (90X4). In addition, you are finally advised.
