The Indian Army's legal division is known as the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Department. Selection
Every year, the Indian Army issues a call for law graduates between the ages of 21 and 27 to apply for a Short Service Commission in the JAG department. An LLB degree is required, as is eligibility for registration with the Bar Council of India. There are only ten positions available, with seven for men and three for women. The selection procedure includes the Directorate General of Recruiting.
Selected candidates will attend the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai for 49 weeks of pre-commission training. Candidates who complete the course successfully will be given a 'Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies by the University of Madras.
Following commissioning and basic training, law graduates are sent to army units at border locations and act as soldiers. This two-year exposure is meant to instill the practical components of military law, and exposure to military routine is necessary to grasp the potential consequences of military instructions.

The Indian Army Criteria for JAG Eligibility
JAG stands for Judge Advocate General Arm, and it is the Indian Army's legal branch. Process of Interview Selection for JAG SSB
The JAG SSB Interview for the JAG Entry Exam is held on 5 consecutive days. Those who do not pass stage I will be recalled the next day. The SSB interview is five days long. Candidates are tested on a range of characteristics over the course of five days.
Candidates who pass this step must appear for Stage II.
Day 5: Conference
Each assessor must provide a minimum of 90 points. SSB has 900 points in total. It is then separated into four sections (psychology, GTO, interview, and conference round), with each receiving 900/4=225 points.
