Indian  Coast Guard Navik Exam pattern  2023 

Indian Coast Guard Navik exam pattern  basically divided into four phases.  The exam pattern for each phases bestow below-:

STAGE -1 -: In stage - 1 are two sections and it is conducted in CBT i.e Computer Based Test  or mode Candidate who have opted for Navik (GD) Candidate  are required to attempt section - I which comprises Mathematics Science ,English , Reasoning and General Knowledge . The standard of the syllabus is of class 10th standard . 

Maximum marks to the Test is 60. Candidates who have opted  for Navik (GD) are required to appear for both section I and II .The section I is the same as Navik (DB) . Section . Section- II comprises questions from mathematics + Physics are marks allocated to the test are 50. Exam pattern is of objective type.

STAGE - 2 -: Those who qualify the written exam are asked for appear in stage - II that comprises physical fitness Test (PFT) , document verification and initial medical exam. The duration of stage II is for 1to 2 days the (PFT) Physical Fitness Test consists of running , squat ups and push ups. In the documents verification, all the original documents such as grade of X,XII, photo identity card including caste certificate etc are verified. In the medical examination, the medical board may put the candidate as permanently unfit or temporarily unfit.

STAGE - III -: It comprises final documents verification and medical exam at INS Chilka Duration of this stage is one to two days.

STAGE - IV -: The candidates who clear stage III and stand in merit as per the vacancies available are provisionally shortlisted for  training at INS Chilka.

Salary and allowances of Indian Coast Guard (GD) is given below -:

  • After joining , a Navik in the Indian Coast Guard will be entitled to get a basic pay of INR 21,700 plus DA and other allowances.
  • A Navik can be promoted upto the rank of pradhan Adhikari with a pay scale of 47,600 with Dearness allowance 
  • Apart from basic pay and  allowances, a Navik is entitled to get free ration, clothing, Medical treatment, government accomodation for self and family on nominal rate, canteen and various loan facilities.
  • After retirement , they can avail ECHS Medical facilities.

Indian Coast Guard Job Profile: Promotional Aspects - 

 

The ICG Indian Coast Guard Personnel are entitled to promotions and appraisals depending on the years of  Service and Experience. Candidates can also appear for departmental examinations to get promotions before the scheduled time. generally it takes 5 to 8 years to get a promotion. Candidates can be promoted to the following posts:-

A Navik (GD) officer can be promoted up to the rank of Pradhan Adhikari.

A Yantrik, can be promoted up to Pradhan Sahayak Engineer.
 

Probationary Period for Indian Coast Guard - 

After the hiring procedure is over, candidates will be contacted for basic training at INS Chilka, followed by maritime training and professional training.

They will be given branches or trades based on how well they perform during their training and how much service is required of them. Candidates that do poorly will not be allowed to continue with the training programme.
