10th class Passed from any Education Board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India

Note:

  1. EWS candidates will not get any age relaxation.
  2. The Board for Class 10th must be recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education in India
  3. Even if there is no vacancy reserved for SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy) / EWS category candidates, such candidates can still apply. However, they will not be eligible for any age and passing marks concession/relaxation etc. SC / ST candidates are exempt from payment of the application fee even in such cases.

ICG DB Selection Procedure

Selection Method

Recruitment candidates are chosen using an all-India order of merit that takes into account both the number of open positions and their performance in Stages I through IV. Recruitment into the ICG requires passing Stages I, II, III, and IV as well as demonstrating adequate performance in training. Before Stage I, Stage II, and Stage III of the CGEPT examinations may begin, all candidates must submit to an identity check.

 

STAGE-I: Written Examination

(a) Document verification (‘Provisionally Pass’ or ‘Fail’): At Stage-I candidate’s identity will be checked against the details filled in by the candidate in the online application. The candidates will be required to bring the following documents for verification while reporting at their respective examination centres: -

  1. Valid original Identity proof (Aadhar Card OR PAN Card Voter ID card OR Driving License OR Passport) as submitted/uploaded in the online application.
  2. 01 Coloured printouts of E-admit card (black & white printout not allowed).
  3. 02 in no. passport-size colour photograph with similar facial features as uploaded in the online application.
  4. For SC/ST applicants only: - Original caste certificate and 02 photocopy of self-attested SC/ST certificate, original train/bus ticket, cancelled cheque leaf for NEFT payment and travel form downloaded from the website for claiming TA.

STAGE-II:

Based on the performance in the Computer Based Online Examination, a merit list will be prepared and provisional E-admit card for Stage-II will be issued as per the vacancies available and ratio decided by ICG. The duration of Stage – II will be from 1 to 2 days and will be conducted at the centre as allotted to a candidate in the provisional E-admit card for Stage II. Stage II involves the following tests which are only qualifying in nature i.e. either ‘Provisionally Pass’ or ‘Fail’: -

(a) Physical Fitness Test (Pass/Fail): Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. All candidates are advised to be in possession of a sport rig (Shoe, T-shirt, Trousers etc). The PFT consists of

  1. a 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
  2. 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
  3. 10 Pushups.

All three tests of PFT is to be carried out in continuity without any break. Any break will lead to failing the PFT

 

(b) Document verification (Provisionally Pass/Fail)

(c) Initial Medicals Examination. (Pass/Fail)

 


Stage- III

Based on the performance in Stage-I & Stage II, an all-India merit list will be prepared and an e-admit card for stage-III (final medicals at INS Chilka) will be issued as per the vacancies available and the ratio decided by ICG. The duration of Stage III is 1 to 2 days. Stage III involves the following:

(a) Document verification (Provisionally Pass/Fail)

(b) Final Medicals at INS Chilka (Review Medicals as part of Final Medical (Pass/Fail)

(c) Submission of the original document, police verification and other associated forms

 


STAGE–IV:

The candidates who clear Stage III and stand in merit as per the vacancies available will be provisionally shortlisted for training at INS Chilka. The candidates are to submit all the original documents and verification of all original documents through Boards/Universities/State government will be carried out by the Indian Coast Guard.

Job Profile

The Navik (Domestic Branch) provide logistics support to the Ships Company onboard ship and ashore as Cook & Steward as mentioned below:

 

  1. Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organisation.
  2. Stewards: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organisation.
