EXAM PATTERN-
Indian Coast Guard Navik DB Written Test - Stage I
Breaking Rule - The Breaking rule in merit is applied in case of two or more candidates having the same marks in stage I then the tie will be broken in steps as follows
(i) Candidate who gets more aggregate percentage in the qualifying exam that is class 10th
(ii) Candidates older in age will be held higher in merit.
Indian Coast Guard Navik DB Physical Test - Stage II
Candidates who clear the written test will be eligible for the next round, which will be the Indian Coast Guard Navik DB physical test. Following are the activities that will be performed during this round. This test will be qualifying in nature.
Medical Examination and Initial Document Verification - Stage III
Candidates who will clear both the initial stages i.e. the written exam and the physical fitness test, will be eligible for the Induction round. In this round document verification and final medical examination round is conducted. Candidates need to present their basic documents like education certificates etc here.
Final Medical Exam - The selected candidates will then finally be called for the final medical examination. Interested candidates should check out the medical standards or requirements to clear the selection process.

Navik(DB)
Height-
The minimum height permitted for the enrollment in the Indian Coast Guard is 157 cm.
Note: He should also have a proportionate chest with a minimum expansion capability of 05 cms. The candidate should possess good mental and physical health, should be free from any disease/ disability, surgical deformities like Knock-Knees, Flat-Foot and have no cardiovascular disease.

Certain documents will be required while filling the Coast Guard application form 2022. The candidates are advised to keep the scanned copies of the document ready while filling the form in the prescribed format. The important documents required for Coast Guard Navik are as follows -
TRAINING -
The basic training for Navik (Domestic Branch)will be conducted at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade. Branch/ trade will be allocated as per the requirement of service and performance during basic training. Basic training at INS Chilka will cover the following Subjects:
Academic and service subjects.
Sports activities
Outdoor training such as Parade Training, Sailing, Boat Pulling, Swimming, Trekking, Cross- Country, Firing etc.
Service oriented activities including maintenance of equipment, living spaces and training areas etc.
Duration of Training-
Naviks (Domestic Branch) – 16 weeks
On completion of basic training at INS Chilka, the trainee will undergo professional and sea training for a period of 06 months to 2 years or as decided by ICG.
Naviks (DB) are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE if their progress (including academic) or conduct is unsatisfactory at any time during training. Trainees are also liable to be discharged at any stage of training if their online application or the documents are found to be falsified at any stage of recruitment.

TRAINING PERIOD-
The commencement training period was scheduled for the month of October 2021. Your sea training and professional training will be evaluated during this period. Once the training is completed, branch/trade will be allocated to the Navik DB officer as per their performance in training. If your development is found unsatisfactory, you will be discharged.
