Indian Coast Guard i.e commonly known as (ICG). The main role of the Indian Coast Guard is to protect the marine borders of the country and assist in the rescue of people at sea. The two major types of entries in the Indian Coast Guard are officers' entry and sailor's entry . The various branches to the officers entry levels include Assistant Commandant - General Duty (GD), Commercial Pilot License, Short Service Appointments, Technical and law entry. Sailor's entry has three sub-entry levels that includes the Yatrik , Navik General Duty (GD) and Navik Domestic Branch (DB)

Indian Coast Guard holds various national level recruitment exams every year for these posts. However the examination is conducted offline.
The selection process includes several phases i.e Written exam , PFT Physical fitness test and Medical examination.

INDIAN COAST GUARD NAVIK (DB) DOMESTIC BRANCH EXAM PATTERN -
Indian Coast Guard Navik exam pattern basically divided into five phases. The exam pattern for each phases described below-
Candidates who have opted for NAVIK (DB) are required to attempt section I which comprises Maths , Science, English , Reasoning and General knowledge. The standard of the syllabus is of class 10th standard. Maximum marks allotted to the test is 60.

Certain documents will be required while filling the Coast Guard application form 2022. The candidates are advised to keep the scanned copies of the document ready while filling the form in the prescribed format. The important documents required for Coast Guard Navik are as follows -
TRAINING -
The basic training for Navik (Domestic Branch)will be conducted at INS Chilka followed by sea training and professional training in the allotted trade. Branch/ trade will be allocated as per the requirement of service and performance during basic training. Basic training at INS Chilka will cover the following Subjects:
Academic and service subjects.
Sports activities
Outdoor training such as Parade Training, Sailing, Boat Pulling, Swimming, Trekking, Cross-Country, Firing etc.
Service-oriented activities including maintenance of equipment, living spaces and training areas etc.
Duration of Training-
Navik (Domestic Branch) – 16 weeks
On completion of basic training at INS Chilka, the trainee will undergo professional and sea training for a period of 06 months to 2 years or as decided by ICG.
Navik (DB) are liable to be discharged as UNSUITABLE if their progress (including academic) or conduct is unsatisfactory at any time during training. Trainees are also liable to be discharged at any stage of training if their online application or the documents are found to be falsified at any stage of recruitment.

The salary of the Navik DB officer is as per 7th Commission pay and hence, the basic pay is Rs. 21,700. Therefore, as per the government norms, you will receive the basic pay of Rs. 21,700 along with grade pay of Rs. 1900 as your basic salary.

After joining, a Navik in Indian Coast Guard will be entitled to get a basic pay of INR 21,700 plus Dearness Allowance and Other Allowance.
A Navik can be promoted up to the Pradhan Adhikari with a pay scale of 47,600 with Dearness Allowance
Apart from basic pay and allowances a Navik is entitled to get free ration, clothing, Medical treatments, Government accommodation for self and family on a nominal rate, canteen and various loan facilities.
After retirement, they can avail of ECHS Medical Facilities.
