There are four stages to the choosing process.

Interviewing Process for the Indian Coast Guard (Assistant comandent)

1-Applications shortlisted: The choosing process begins with this step. This includes both the applications and the shortlisted candidates. The applications are chosen for further consideration, and the selected applicants are contacted.

2-Preliminary Selection Board Interview: The preliminary selection board interview is the first step once applications have been narrowed down. Any of the four centers—Kolkata, Noida, Mumbai, and Chennai—can host it. There are two segments to the test; the reasoning test is the first. The questions for this test are displayed on a projection screen while the candidates are seated in a room, and they must then mark their responses on an OMR sheet. There is no way to go back and change your mind after answering a question. You should carry a blue/black ballpoint pen. When marking the responses, use caution. It lasts for about 40 to 60 minutes and is an elimination test. After this test has lasted for two to three hours, the results are announced, and only the successful candidates are contacted for subsequent testing.

  • The Picture Perception and Description Test, or PP&DT, is the second stage. This is identical to the test that was given at the SSB Interview. You are urged to use caution and pay close attention to the displayed image. You have 30 seconds to look at the image before writing down information about the characters, such as their age, temperament, and sex. The characters in the image must serve as the basis for a story that you must write. The next step is a discussion test. In this scenario, you are divided into groups of 15-20 candidates, and each candidate is required to tell their own story before the group talks and decides on a shared group narrative. The candidates are then called for an interview after they are also shortlisted.
  1. Interview with the Final Selection Board: The Picture Perception and Description Test, or PP&DT, is the second stage. This is identical to the test that was given at the SSB Interview. After being shortlisted, the candidates are invited for an interview. The candidate's responses in these tests assist the psychologist in understanding the candidate's personality and determining his suitability for the job.
  2. The Group Testing Officer, or GTO, is the next assessor who evaluates candidates based on their practical group and individual performance. The Coast Guard tests include two group discussions, one group planning exercise, and a leatherette. Throughout the GT Series, you should be agile and enthusiastic.
  3. The Interviewing Officer is the next assessor. He assesses the candidate based on his or her response in the personal interview, which is a one-on-one interview. Personal interview questions can range from a candidate's personal life to current events in the world.
  4. On the final day, a board conference is held in which all three assessors, as well as the board president, sit and the candidates appear one by one, each being asked some general questions about their stay and food, among other things. The outcome of the conference is announced.
  5. Medical and Merit: Following the results, successful candidates are sent for medicals, and if they have applied to fly, they are sent for the Pilot Aptitude and Battery Test (PABT) at AFSB Dehradun or AFSB Mysore. The final selection is determined by the Merit list.

 

Process of ICG (PSB+FSB) Selection

The ICG (PSB+FSB) for the exam is held on 5 consecutive days. Those who pass the written exam will be invited to the SSB interview. Candidates are tested on a variety of parameters over the course of five days.
