Brief description of the Indian Coast Guard:

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is a maritime law enforcement and search plus rescue agency of India with jurisdiction over its all-territorial waters including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone. The Indian Coast Guard was established on 1st February 1977 by the Coast Guard Act, 1978 of the Parliament of India. It operates under the Ministry of Defence.

The Indian Coast Guard works in close cooperation with the Indian Navy, the Department of Fisheries, the Department of Revenue (Customs), the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and the State Police Services (SPS).

Commercial Pilot CPL SSA

Candidates should having a Class 12 or equivalent qualification with Physics and Mathematics as subject and should have 55% in each of the subjects.

Candidates should have born b/w July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2004

 

 

Technical Mechanical

Candidates should have Engineering degree from a recognised university in the Naval Architecture or Mechanical engineering or Marine science or Automotive or Industrial and Metallurgy or design or Aeronautical science or Aerospace with minimum 60 % aggregate marks.

Candidates should have born b/w July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2002

 

Technical Electrical/Electronics

Candidates should have  Engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunications or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication technology or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with 60% marks.

Candidates should have born b/w July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2002

Law Entry

Candidates must have a degree in law from a kind of recognised university.

 Selection Criteria for ICG- Assistant Commandant Posts:

The selection will be done on basis of following stages of exam criteria:-

Stage I exam

The first stage comprises of screening test which use to held in online mode. This screening test is conducted for posts-GD/PN/CPL/Technical(Mechanical Engg./Electrical & Electronics) except Law level  entry candidates and Departmental Promotion level (DP) entry candidates. 

Stage II exam

Based on the performance in  Stage-I, candidates are shortlisted to be  appearing in Stage-II (PSB). The test comprises of Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and the Picture Perception &Discussion Test (PP&DT).

Stage III exam

This stage is conducted for the qualified candidates of Stage II exam. The test comprises of 3 tests like Psychological Test, 1 Group Task and final Interview (Personality test). 

Stage IV

The candidates who clear the Stage-III are also required to undergo special medical examination at  the Base Hospital situated at  New Delhi.

Stage V

Candidates who clear Stage IV and stand in All India Merit List will be provisionally selected for training and will be required to report at INA (Indian Naval Academy) Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course. This Merit List will be prepared based on combined marks of Stage I and III.
