The greatest Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) in India is the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India is in charge of its operations. The major responsibility of the CRPF is to support state and union territory police forces in their efforts to uphold the rule of law and fight insurgency. Both the Central Reserve Police Force (Regular) and the Central Reserve Police Force make up this organisation (Auxiliary) and are fulfilling their responsibilities. It changed its name to the Central Reserve Police Force following Indian independence. The CRPF has assumed a larger role in India's general elections in addition to its responsibilities for maintaining law and order and counterinsurgency.

  • Officer Level Ranks - The officer-level ranks in the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) are known as AC or the Assistant Commandants. The AC recruitment process is conducted annually by the UPSC through CAPF AC Notification. The candidates can directly become Assistant Commandants in the CRPF 
  • Non-Officer Level Ranks - The various non-officer ranks in the CRPF include Assistant Sub Inspector, GD, Driver, Mochi, Kitchen Staff and many more.

SSC GD Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have cleared /passed Matriculation or the 10th pass from a recognized Board/University.

Candidates who have not acquired the essential qualification as per the prescribed dates will not be eligible for the exam.

BSF AC Eligibility Criteria

For the BSF AC Recruitment on any of the posts below a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria for the various departments that include works, electrical and the water wing. The eligibility criteria include educational qualification, physical standards and age limit.

SSC GD Age Limit

To apply for the post of SSC GD, Candidates should be in between 18- 23 years. The upper or minimum age limit should be 18 years and the maximum or upper age limit should be 23 years.

SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern

As per the SSC GD Constable Exam pattern, the Tier 1 exam is an online, multiple-choice-based exam.

 The exam consists of 4 sections with 100 questions in total.

 The duration for the SSC GD Constable Tier I exam is 90 minutes.

 The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in bilingual languages – English and Hindi only.

 There is a 0.25 negative marking for every incorrect answer in the SSC GD online test.

 The questions asked in the online examination will be of High School (10th) level.
