CAPF AC Selection Process

The CAPF selection process comprises the following stages.

  • CAPF written examination
  • Physical Standard and Medical Test
  • Filling out the DAF form
  • CAPF interview
  • Final Merit List

Once the candidates have appeared for the CAPF AC written examination. They must begin their preparation for the CAPF physical and medical tests. 

The last phase of the interview or personality test will be held for candidates who are found fit and who pass the medical standards test. The UPSC CAPF Selection Process will award 150 points for this step.

It is significant to note that applicants who have been deemed medically incompetent but have been granted permission by the Appellate Authority to appear before the "Review Medical Board" in support of their appeal will also be invited to the final round.
Candidates selected for the interview must obtain the e-summon letter posted on the official website. To download the letter, enter the captcha code and the seven-digit roll number.

  • There is a panel of four members, one of whom is the chairperson and is a current member of the CAPF.
  • The other three are professors or experts with extensive backgrounds in their respective professions.
  • To boost the candidate's confidence, there is an introductory session at the beginning.
  • After that, there are inquiries based on DAF responses (Detailed Application Form).
  • At both the national and regional levels, candidates are questioned about current events.

CAPF AC DAF - Detailed Application Form (DAF)

Candidates will be regarded as eligible for the interview round and personality test if they pass the medical standards test. A Detailed Application Form will be given to each of these applicants (DAF). The form will require specific information, such as their preferred Forces.

Pre-Requisites For Filling DAF

Candidates should make sure that a few things are in order before beginning the DAF form-filling process. During the form-filling procedure, some papers and bits of information will be required. It's crucial to keep them prepared right away.

The full list of requirements for DAF filling is provided below:

  • the candidate's age certificate in scanned form
  • a scanned copy of the candidate's academic credentials from their diplomas
  • the category certificate in scanned form (if applicable)
  • Copy of the undertaking that has been digitally scanned and properly signed by the applicant for the non-creamy layer OBC category
  • Scan of the proforma that the applicant seeking relaxation as an OBC candidate provided as an Annexure to the Detailed Application Form.
  • copy of the certificate supporting the claim of age concession, scanned (if applicable)
  • scanned copy of the discharge certificate if the applicant is claiming to be a veteran.

The documents mentioned above must be scanned in their original copies in 200 dpi greyscale. They must then be converted into a single pdf file up to 2 MB. The PDF file must not be password protected and should be uploaded as part of DAF.

At the time of the interview or within the last day of the interview, candidates will be expected to present the original certificates along with self-attested copies. The candidature will be cancelled if these documents are not submitted in accordance with the requirements.

How To Fill The UPSC CAPF DAF Application Form?

  • Candidates must fill out the form with honest and accurate information.
  • Cross-checking errors will result in the cancellation of a candidate's application.
  • Candidates must indicate their preference for the Force in DAF column 10. No changes will be accepted after submission, therefore this must be done after careful thinking.
  • The category certificate must be in the recognised format, which is available on the UPSC website, and must follow the prescribed format.
  • The date of birth entered must match the one on the secondary school graduation or matriculation certificate.
  • The Higher Secondary Examination certificate or an equivalent certificate may be uploaded by a candidate who has passed that examination.

An appointment letter will be given to the chosen candidates. For their service to the Indian Government, CAPF AC officers are paid between INR 51,480 and 1,77,500 in salary as well as a number of benefits, including DA, MA, HRA, TA, and others.
