Indian Army GD Eligibility Criteria: 

 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of the expected academic requirements defined by the Indian Army to be eligible for the category of GD. To apply for the Indian Army GD Recruitment exam, the candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:

  • The candidates must have at least a minimum educational qualification of 10th or matriculation passed with an aggregate of 45% and 33% in all the respective subjects from a recognized board.
  • The best of the 5 subjects is taken into consideration and an individual must have at least a minimum score of 33 marks out of 100 marks in each subject and a total of 45% in all.

 Age Limit

The candidates who aspire to be eligible for the general duty posts should meet the age criteria and the specified age limit for the exam is 17.5 years to 23 years as of mentioned date. It means the minimum age to apply for general duty is 17.5 years and the maximum age limit is 23 years.

Marital Status

The candidate must have a marital status as unmarried or single meeting all the necessary eligibility criteria to join the Indian Army.

Nationality Criteria 

The Nationality criteria allow citizens from multiple nations to join the Indian Army. The description is provided below:

  • An Indian citizen
  • A citizen of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who has permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962.
  • An Indian refugee who immigrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently live in India.

Indian Army GD Exam Pattern 2022

  • The question paper consists of a total of 50 questions.
  • Every question carries 2 marks. Thus, the total marks of the paper equal 100.
  • In order to clear the exam, the candidates must score 32 marks out of 100.
  • Every right answer consists of 02 marks.
  • For every wrong answer attempted, there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
  • For every unattempted question, no marks or penalty is applied.
  • There is an exception for candidates who have NCC ‘C’ Certificate. Candidates with the NCC ‘C’ Certificate need not appear in this examination.
