AFCAT i.e Air Force Common Admission Test. AFCAT is framed by the Indian Air force twice a year for the interested candidates to fill up their vacancies. Vacancies are released for various posts such as Flying , Ground Duty , Meteorology separately for men and women.

Non- Technical AFCAT - General Awareness, Reasoning, Military Aptitude Test, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability with 100 questions of 300 marks and the time duration is 2 hours.
EKT for Technical Branch- Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science with 50 questions of 150 marks and the time duration is about 45 minutes.
SELECTION PROCESS IN AFCAT-
The selection process of AFCAT 2023 includes three stages which are computer- based, test AFSB, and Medical Exam.
This is the first stage of the selection process. An online examination is conducted, and the candidates performing extremely well and meeting the cutoff will proceed to the subsequent stage of the AFCAT selection process.
The applicants must be medically fit to be eligible for the job.
The official have further divided the AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) also known as the Air-Force Selection Board , into two tiers which are mentioned below.
If you have successfully cleared step - 1 you will receive a Call letter to report to any one of the Air FOrce Selection Boards located at Dehradun, Varanasi, Gandhinagar and Mysore. At the Air Force selection Board (AFSB), you undergo the following tests in order to ascertain your suitability and gauge your potential as an officer in the Indian Air Force.
STAGE -I is a screening test. Those who qualify STAGE -I are eligible to undergo STAGE-II testing. STAGE -I disqualified candidates are routed back after announcement of results.
All STAGE -I qualified candidates undergo following tests as part of STAGE - II testing during the next four to five days. The fifth day is for (CPSS) Computerized Pilot Selection System testing (Flying Branch).
These tests will be explained to you in detail before they are conducted by the Selection Board.
If you are recommended by the Selection Board, you will be sent for the medical examination either at the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi or the Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru.
An all-India Merit is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written test and AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) interview, subject to being medically fit. Based on the vacancies available in various branches / sub-branches, Joining instructions are issued to join one of the Training establishments.
