The Airforce Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is led by the Indian Air Force IAF. The test is held every year in the month of February and August, solely, to recruit Class-I Officers in the Flying and Ground level Duties GD (Technical and Non-Technical group).

Educational Criteria:-
· For Flying Branch: The candidates must be having any degree with 60% marks in
aggregate in all three graduations. He/she must probably score 60% and passed Physics and Maths in class twelfth.
· For Technical Branch: Candidates must be
either appearing or qualified for a 4-year degree and have finished Section
A and B Examinations of Associate Membership of the Indian Institute of
Engineers (IIE) or Aeronautical Society (AS) with at least 60% marks.
· For Ground Duty GD (Non-Technical):
B.Com Graduate with at least 60% marks. For training in the official post, the
applicants must have MBA/MCA or M.A./M.Sc Degree in one of the main subjects such as
English/ Physics/ International Studies/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Statistics/
International Relations IR / Defence Studies/ Psychology/ Computer Science/ Information
Technology/ Management/ Journalism/ Public Relation PR/ Mass Communication (Mass comm) with at least of 50% and have scored at least 60% in overall graduation.
Age criteria:-
Rest Age Relaxation as per govt. Rule.
The candidate Applying for the AFCAT Exam must be a Citizen of the Indian Nation.
Candidates below the age of 25 Years must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course training schedule.
Training will be started in the first week of July of the following year for all courses at Air Force Academy(AFA) Dundigal, Hyderabad. The duration of the Training period for the Flying branch and Ground duty GD, Technical Branches is 74 week time period and that of Ground Duty GD Non-Technical Branches is for 52 weeks.
Documents Requirements to fill AFCAT Application form:-
Candidates should keep the following documents ready to apply online for the AFCAT exam:
· Aadhaar Card
· Credit/Debit cards
· Marksheets of Intermediate and graduation/diploma/integrated postgraduation etc. degrees.
· Scanned images of passport-size photographs, signatures, and left thumb impressions of the candidates.
AFCAT Exam Pattern
AFCAT Exam will be in Online mode. Computer-based Multiple Choice Questions (objective type) carrying 3 Marks for each right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Subjects –
General Awareness & aptitude test, Verbal Ability in the English language, Numerical Ability (NA) and Reasoning aptitude and Military Aptitude Test(MAT).
Questions and Marks – 100 MCQ Questions having a total of 300 Marks.
Time Allowed – 2 Hours
Subjects – Mechanical engineering, Computer Science and Electrical engineering & Electronics.
Questions and Marks – 50 Questions, a total of 150 Marks.
Time Allotted – 45 Minutes.
